Using Data to Drive Better Procurement Decisions and Reduce Costs

Over several years in procurement roles, I’ve used data to help organisations make better decisions and deliver meaningful cost savings.

Working across healthcare and government, I’ve been involved in a range of data-heavy procurement projects - helping teams understand their spending, identify inefficiencies, and make more informed decisions.

While I can’t share specific details, this work has included delivering large-scale savings and implementing structured approaches to managing spend.

Examples include:

  • Delivering £8m annual savings on pharmaceutical spend for a hospital

  • Supporting the implementation of a £400m procurement framework for the UK Government

  • Achieving £3m annual savings on IT spend for a government organisation

  • Identifying £200k annual savings through restructuring medical engineering spend

  • Delivering £150k annual savings on hospital food contracts

This experience shapes how I work today - focusing on clear data, practical insights, and changes that make a real difference.
